Elizabeth Ann Maxwell, afterwards Mrs Henry Tritton of Beddington Surrey and her two brothers Charles Henry Maxwell - inscribed verso, circa 1825. Elizabeth Anne, daughter of the Reverend Patrick Maxwell, was born in 1817, and therefore about 8 years old in this picture. She married Tritton II (1815-1877) a partner in Barclay Bevan Bening Tritton - now Barclays Bank, and bore him 10 children. They lived at Ewell House, Epsom. Original Frame. H 33 cm W 38 cm D 4 cm A Maxwell daughter, possibly Elizabeth Anne, with her kitten, watercolour heightened with chalk, probably aged (8?) and therefore dating to 1825. Companion portrait to w/c, Elizabeth and her brothers. Sold as a pair Framed by Samuel Dixon of Gt Portland Street (1820-1839) labelled - would restore well (original watergilding under later gold paint) H 29 cm W 25 cm D 4 cm The photographs do not show the true colours of the paintings
